Street Performers
I used to look down on Street performers or felt sorry for them. Now I've come to understand that there's no bigger thrill in life than bringing art directly to the people. So I've been actively photographing Street performers for a while now. Sure, most people are oblivious, some give you dirty looks, sometimes you even get attacked, but when the right folks come along it's magic.

There are artists from all possible fields. There are world renowned musicians, magicians, dancers and comedians. Citizens of some of these Cities do appreciate their art. It is their love and understanding for art that makes artists outperform themselves each time. Street Performers date back to the Greeks and Romans. There, street performers mostly live on the tips and gratuities of the audience.
Street Performers enrich the art community with a nourishing supply of the creative energetic flow of music, poetry, and dance. They provide free (or affordable)entertainment to people who cannot afford admission to nightclubs or concert halls, and enable the community to share in the street performers' outlet of creative expression. They also strengthen the culture of small art towns, and restore dignity to street performing.
Local merchants should also see the value and utility of street performers as a means of stimulating their business as well as the cultural requirements of their customers. Authorities could also bring street performers into hospitals, prisons, and other institutions in order to provide creative stimulation. I feel that street performing and the outlet it provides both to the performer and the audience is an integral part of the human experience.
"Ordinary things will transform themselves if you appreciate the details and see them with passion." `It's a happier way to live, when you can appreciate the smallest little details of everyday life.''
The following are my favorite pictures of street performers. I’ll add more as I have time to work with more of my pictures. Please be patient and come back to see more... if you like of course!
Hong Kong. November 2010.
Hong Kong. I took these pictures on a sunday morning; I was surprised for the amount of people that use the public parks and common spaces in this incredible city. This was a small group of women that take tai chi classes from this guy. They were absolutely coordinated, their movements were soft and graceful, I was so impress with the elasticity of these women because most of them were over 40 years old. Their teacher is a really nice guy and by the way the sword was real, and some of these girls had swords as well. I’m sure nobody bother them while carrying this weapons.
